This guide walks through the complete flow from discovering a skill to using it successfully for the first time in about 3 minutes. The example used here is the "brand monitoring" skill.

Brand monitoring searches for brand mentions, organizes feedback, and generates summaries. It is available in Skill Hub and through social media Plugins that provide this capability.

Two Ways to Install Skills

In the current version, you can install skills in two ways:

Method 1: Install via Plugin (Recommended)

When you install a Plugin, StoreClaw prepares the related skills included in that Plugin automatically as needed and guides you through account connection. This is the fastest way.

Method 2: Install Manually in Skill Hub

If you only need specific skills, you can search for and install them manually in Skill Hub.

Step 1: Choose a Skill in Skill Hub

  1. Click Plugins in the left navigation, then open the Skills tab.
  2. Search for brand monitoring in Skill Hub.
  3. Find the brand monitoring skill card in the list and open its detail page. There you can review the skill's core functions and common scenarios.
  4. Click + on the card to install it. If it already shows an installed mark, no repeat installation is needed.

Step 2: Use It in Chat for the First Time

Now test the new capability:

  1. Click New task in the left navigation.
  2. Option A: When you know which skill to use
    • Type / in the chat box and select the Skill you need. If it is not listed, describe your request directly.
  3. Option B: Describe the task directly
    • Enter your request in natural language, for example:

"Summarize mentions and customer feedback about [brand name] from the past week."

    • StoreClaw will match the most relevant skill automatically.
  4. Send the message and review the result generated through the skill.

Step 3: Confirm That the Skill Works

To confirm that the skill is active and working properly, try this prompt:

"List complaints about [brand name] from the past week that need action, with source links."

If the skill is working, StoreClaw returns relevant brand feedback and sources. If it says a data source must be connected first, complete the required account authorization or install the corresponding Plugin.

Want to keep analysis results organized over time?

StoreClaw provides three ways to manage and preserve analysis output:

  1. Automatic archiving: Reports, charts, and other generated files are automatically saved to the Library, where you can review and reuse them later.
  2. Project management: Use Projects to create a dedicated project for a specific store or business line and keep related chats and files together.
  3. MyStore: For ecommerce stores, you can use MyStore store workspace for continuous operational analysis, daily briefings, and anomaly diagnosis around a specific store.

FAQ

Q: Why doesn't the skill list appear after I type / in the input box?

A: Check the Skill’s availability in Plugins > Skills. You can also describe your request directly.

Q: Why does StoreClaw sometimes choose the wrong skill to answer my request?

A: This usually happens when several similar skills are enabled at the same time, such as multiple competitor analysis tools. To improve matching accuracy, enable only the skills needed for the current task.

Q: Can I use a skill without typing / first?

A: Yes. As long as the skill is enabled, you can describe the request directly in natural language, such as "Summarize customer feedback about our brand from the past week," and StoreClaw will try to select the best matching skill automatically.

Q: After I activate a skill, is it available in all of my projects automatically?

A: Yes. Skill activation is account-level. Once a skill is enabled on the Skills page, you can invoke it through slash commands or natural language in any project or new chat.

Q: What is the difference between skills installed via Plugin and manually installed skills?

A: Plugins prepare related Skills as needed, while manual installation lets you choose a Skill from Skill Hub. Individual uninstallation depends on the controls available on the Skills page. System-managed core capabilities do not require separate management.
