Permissions, Usage Limits, and Security
API Key Permissions
The API Key is the credential used to access the FastMoss MCP service. The capabilities and data StoreClaw can access depend on the FastMoss account permissions, MCP service status, and plan associated with that Key.
If StoreClaw reports that the connection failed or data cannot be queried, check the following:
- Whether your FastMoss account has an active MCP / CLI service.
- Whether the complete
API Keywas copied correctly. - Whether the
API Keycontains leading or trailing spaces, line breaks, or extra characters. - Whether your FastMoss account still has available quota.
- Whether the request frequency has reached the limit of your current plan.
- Whether the FastMoss MCP service is currently available.
Usage Limits
FastMoss MCP / CLI provides usage quotas and request-frequency limits based on the selected plan. Quotas, rate limits, and the number of API Keys may vary by plan.
If StoreClaw reports insufficient quota, failed requests, or rate limiting, open the FastMoss Developer Center to check your current plan and remaining quota. Upgrade your plan or wait for the quota to reset as needed.
API Key Security
Keep your API Key secure:
- Do not share it with unrelated users.
- Do not publish it in public documents, screenshots, code repositories, or group chats.
- Do not embed it in publicly accessible frontend code.
- If you suspect that the Key has been exposed, disable, delete, or regenerate the relevant API Key in the FastMoss Developer Center as soon as possible.
FAQ
Q: What should I do if I cannot find my API Key?
A: Make sure you are logged in to the FastMoss Developer Center and that your account has an active MCP / CLI service. If you have not activated a plan or trial, complete the activation first, then return to the API Key management page.
Q: What should I enter in the API Key field in StoreClaw?
A: Enter the API Key generated or displayed in the FastMoss Developer Center. Do not enter your FastMoss login password, and do not enter the complete MCP URL such as https://mcp.fastmoss.com/mcp?api_key=....
Q: What should I do if StoreClaw says the API Key is invalid?
A: Check the following:
- Whether the full
API Keywas copied. - Whether there are extra spaces or line breaks before or after the Key.
- Whether you accidentally copied the complete MCP URL instead of the API Key.
- Whether FastMoss MCP / CLI service has been activated.
- Whether the current API Key is still valid.
Q: Why can I still not query data after the connection succeeds?
A: Common causes include:
- Your FastMoss account has insufficient remaining quota.
- Your current plan or account permissions do not support the requested data capability.
- The request frequency has reached the limit of your current plan.
- The query is missing required information such as market, product, shop, creator, category, or time range.
- The FastMoss MCP service is temporarily unavailable or has timed out.
Try adding a clearer market, query target, time range, and analysis goal, then run the query again.
Q: Can I share the API Key with my team members?
A: Whether sharing is appropriate depends on your FastMoss plan and team management setup. Different FastMoss plans may support different numbers of API Keys, and some plans support multiple Keys for team use. For easier permission and quota management, it is recommended to use separate Keys for different scenarios whenever possible and avoid sharing Keys through public channels.
